Meteora
Meteora literally meaning "suspended in the air" in Greek, is a unique rock formation, a natural geological phenomenon in the heart of Greece. UNESCO has characterized Meteora as "a monument of Humanity that has to be maintained". It is a combination of Byzantine art and natural beauty. In fact, the monasteries seem to have always been there-they look like a continuance of the rock formations and host within them priceless artistic and heirloom treasures.
